FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

There are so many questions you may want to know the answers to so here are just a few of the most common ones.

Remember to ask as many questions as you like of your Celebrant - they are there to make you feel at ease and conduct the formal part of your day. Glen will gladly answer your questions by email or phone.

How much do you charge?

As every service is different and and individually written for you, my fees will

vary slightly. The cost will be discussed at our first meeting but generally it will be between $300-600 depending on amount of input and travel.

A $100 non-refundable deposit secures your date.

What does this cost include?

This cost includes your personalised ceremony written especially for you, one to two meetings, emails and phone calls, a final meeting if required and the service on

the day.

Do you travel?

Yes, I am happy to travel throughout the greater Wellington area, Wairarapa and nationwide. Costs will be negotiated.

What would happen if you were to get sick or couldn't officiate at our wedding?

In the event that unforseen circumstances inhibit my attendance, I will arrange

for another Celebrant to perform your ceremony.

What happens at the beginning?

When you call or email me, we firstly discuss dates to ensure your date is free. I offer a no obligation meeting to give us both the opportunity to meet each other, talk about your wedding ceremony plans, give you a chance to ask questions and decide whether you would like me to be your Celebrant. If you decide to proceed, we start creating the format and service you wish to have.

Are there any legal requirements?

During the ceremony before a marriage celebrant, and before at least two witnesses, each person must use their full name and say the words "I AB, take you CD, to be my legal wife/husband" or words to similar effect.

How much input can we have?

As much or as little as you wish! A ceremony will evolve from lots of talking and sharing and will reflect your personalities and the kind of relationship you already have. You can write your own entire service, just the vows or leave it up to me. I have lots of ideas and plenty of reference material available to start building your service.

How far in advance do I need to contact the Celebrant and confirm a booking?

It is recommended that you contact Glen as soon as you set a date. Celebrants are often booked up to 12 months ahead, especially during the spring/summer months.
